Do people really use the manual option in an arcade racing game? Like I get using manual in a sim like forza or gran turismo or iracing. But need for speed?

I just learned that I am in-fact a blind cave cricket, incapable of identifying even the most exquisitely rendered video game vehicles.

The roof made me question it at first then I observed closer. It was an easy mistake.

Also has that same always online bullshit they tried to shove on us with Sim City. Cool, I always wanted my single player games to break every time there’s an internet outage. Awesome.

The tuner-era NFS games HAD a manual option. And if these many people are begging for a manual and shooting EA and Speedhunters (they helped dev up the game), it means that there’s quite a sizable amount of people pick the manual.
Besides, look at all the gears you get with a manual.
It’s one of the reasons NFS gets ALL OF THE HATE it’s getting.

thats because most of the teens and younger wouldn;t know what a manual is. My cousin asked what I was doing as she had never seen a manual before (14 y/o)

NFS Underground was the game which made me aware of the manual gearbox since the drag racing forced you to use manual gears. I enjoyed hitting the green so much I tired it with corners and never looked back.
